Vintage Handwoven 2 Piece Skirt Set

Such a work of art! This handwoven skirt set was made by Canadian weaver Gladys Sinclair under her label Naturals in the 1980s or 90s. She was based in Kilsyth, Ontario (Grey Country/Township of Georgian Bluffs).

This unique set in woven fibres of blues and purples combines a long, tunic style vest with a simple, straight elastic waist skirt plus a coordinating adjustable belt to finish off the look. The belt can be worn at the waist of the skirt or over the vest and is adjustable. The long vest can be worn closed or open and has two small slits on the sides. All pieces are fully linedSomehow this suit is both simple and exquisite with an unmistakable joie to vivre that only comes from truly handcrafted garments.
